What is the COMPREHENSIVE PLAN?
Old Republic Home Protection's Comprehensive Plan allows clients to build a custom Plan starting with our Comprehensive Standard Plan and adding enhanced service or coverage options. Our Comprehensive Plan offers an unmatched level of coverage and flexibility that allows our clients to custom-fit the warranty Plan to the specific needs of their home and budget.

How does the Comprehensive Plan differ from the prior Plans offered?
The Comprehensive Plan is different in the following ways:

The Standard Plan provides comprehensive coverage and service unmatched in the Industry. Our Comprehensive Standard Plan's coverage,
includes coverage for:
- Failure due to Lack of Maintenance
- Failure due to Rust or Corrosion
- Failure due to Improperly Installed or Mismatched HVAC Systems
- Water Heater Sediment
- Unknown Pre-Existing Condition Coverage *
* While not offered at some companies, is still a "standard" at Old Republic Home Protection
- The optional Upgrades offered with the Comprehensive Plan allow customers to increase their coverage depending on their home's unique systems and appliances, as well as add enhanced services to assist in their total budget protection from unnecessary expenses.

Do I order the Comprehensive Plan differently than before?
No - you start with our Comprehensive Standard Plan and build from there. The real difference is that
we offer optional Upgrades that are unique to the industry...providing service and coverage unmatched
in the Industry! The Comprehensive Plan allows you to choose as much, or as little, coverage as you
need and that fits your budget.
Let's review the various types of coverage available:

Comprehensive Standard Plan: Our Comprehensive Standard Plan provides the standard
coverage for every Plan Holder. This Plan provides repair or replacement coverage for common systems
and appliances in a home. Systems and appliances that are covered include the heating, electrical and
plumbing systems, plumbing stoppages, water heaters, built-in microwave oven, dishwasher, garbage disposal,
oven/range/cook top, trash compactor, exhaust/ceiling fans, and (in some states) garage door openers,
telephone wiring and more.
Coverage has been enhanced to include items such as improperly installed or mismatched HVAC systems,
failures due to lack of maintenance, failures due to rust or corrosion, and sediment build-up in water
heaters. While most companies don't offer this coverage, others will charge extra. At Old Republic Home Protection, this coverage is included at no additional cost!

Silver Upgrade (Included with the Ultimate Protection package in CA, AZ and NV):
This Upgrade includes enhanced coverage for over 25 items typically excluded from coverage in the
Home Warranty Industry's Standard Plans. Coverage includes items such as: faucets; shower heads and
arms; water heater expansion tanks; heat lamps; dishwasher racks, baskets and rollers;
range/oven/cook top clocks, rotisseries, racks, handles and knobs; smoke detectors; and much more!

Gold Upgrade(Included with the Ultimate Protection package in CA, AZ and NV):
Homeowners who choose to add the Gold Upgrade to their Comprehensive Standard Plan will receive
added coverage, when necessary to effect service, including Code Upgrades (up to $250), Permits
(up to $250 per occurrence), Haul Away of home systems/appliances, and any Crane Costs required
to remove or install rooftop heating or air conditioning units.

Ultimate Protection Plan (Only available in CA, AZ and NV): This money-saving Plan includes
our Comprehensive Standard Plan, Air Conditioning or Kitchen Refrigerator coverage and all coverage
provided in the Silver and Gold Upgrades for only $330. This is a savings of up to $65! Don't pay more
for less coverage! Just ask for "Ultimate Protection"!

Platinum Plus Plan (Only available in CA, AZ and NV): This Plan offers the most coverage
available to Plan Holders at an incredible rate of only $405 - saving up to $40 with package offering!
This Old Republic Home Protection exclusive includes the Ultimate Protection Plan PLUS increased coverage,
when necessary to effect service, for Code Upgrades and/or Modification Costs (up to $500),
Stoppage Access - including toilet removal and costs to install ground level clean-outs, Stoppages due
to Tree Roots, Hydro-jetting, Sediment Build-up in Toilets and more!

Additional Specialty Options: To custom fit the warranty to the needs of the individual
home, homeowners may add one or more of our specialty coverage items.
Item specific options vary by state, but may include coverage for items such as:
- Swimming Pool and/or Spa Equipment
- Kitchen Refrigerator (included in Standard Plans in some states)
- Wet Bar Refrigerator
- Built-in Wine cooler
- Freestanding Icemaker
- Washer/Dryer (included in Standard Plan in some states)
- Limited Roof Leak repair
- Air Conditioner (Included in Standard Plan in some states)
- Extended pipe leak coverage (covers leaks or breaks in piping outside the foundation of the home)
- Septic tank pumping
- Septic system/sewage ejector pump
- Well pump

What made you develop the Comprehensive Plan?
Several years ago we conducted a survey of our clients. The results told us the most important things that
our customers wanted from their warranty company: 1) High quality service and 2) no hassles. We understand
that any time a claim is denied, in whole or in part, it can be perceived as a "hassle". The best way to
avoid that perception is to offer products that provide more coverage - coverage that our Plan Holder wants
and needs for total protection - and which reduces any out of pocket expense to our customer at the time of
service. The result? A truly satisfying service experience which leaves our Plan Holder elated!

What is a Trade Call Fee?
A Trade Call Fee is a "deductible" that is due "per trade" that we dispatch to your home. The amount of the Trade Call Fee varies by state and/or Plan chosen. The typical service trades include Heating/Air Conditioning,
Plumbing, Electrical, and Appliances. The trade call fee amount is charged per trade requested and dispatched to the home - regardless of how many items of the same trade are being serviced.
For example, if a Plan Holder requests service for the dishwasher, they would be responsible for paying one trade call fee to the appliance technician at the time of service.
If that same Plan Holder also requested service for the heater, there would be two trade call fees due - one to the appliance technician and one to the heating technician.
However, if the Plan Holder requested service for the dishwasher and oven, only one trade call fee would be due because we would dispatch an appliance technician to repair both appliances!

So the trade call fee is all I have to pay when I have a service claim - even if you replace something like my water heater?
In most cases, yes. However all home warranty Plans have some limitations to coverage, just like your car or homeowner's insurance. Coverage is not all-inclusive. With Old Republic Home Protection,
many of the limitations can be covered if you upgrade the Plan by using one or more of the Upgrade Options.
Let's examine a water heater replacement as an example. When a water heater needs replacing,
often times the building codes have changed from what they were when the water heater was originally installed.
The plumbing technician can only install the new water heater after any required code upgrades and modifications
have been made. For example, in the state of California, water heaters must have earthquake
straps and be mounted on an 18" stand. In addition, there is a cost associated with hauling the old water heater
away and, in some areas, permits may need to be purchased to complete the installation.
If you purchased the Comprehensive Standard Plan, the cost of replacing the actual unit would be covered.
However, any cost to bring the new water heater installation "up to code",
charges for haul away of the old unit, and the cost of the permit are excluded from coverage. The Plan Holder
would be responsible for that portion of the cost. This cost can run into hundreds of dollars.
However, if you purchase the Gold Upgrade in conjunction with the Comprehensive Standard Plan,
Old Republic Home Protection would pay up to $250 of the cost required to bring the water heater up to current code,
and all costs associated with hauling the old unit away, as well as the cost of the permit. That's a lot more
coverage for a small additional cost - and this example shows just how valuable purchasing the Upgrades
can be for you in the long run.
It is important that you read the Plan and understand its coverage, as well as the limitations and exclusions
to coverage, so you can make the best choice for your needs.
